FAMILY Volunteer Story:
The Bruder Family

"We volunteer as a family because it bonds us to our community; more importantly, it binds us to each another." It reminds us that there are needs beyond our own that need to be acknowledged and shared," says mom.

We take from this community, so it’s our responsibility and privilege to give back. "I want my kids to recognize the impact that they are capable of; to understand the significance of their choices when it comes to others."

The Bruder Family really enjoys the Arizona Diaper Bank project, making breakfast for guests at Ronald McDonald House and playing alongside wheelchair adaptive athletes.

Interacting with peers and being exposed to the hardships of others has established empathy and gratitude within the kids. "It’s been a significant part of their character development," reflects mom.

"Volunteering with Tucson Family Volunteers has allowed us to learn more about ourselves as much as the community we’re helping. We often have meaningful discussions on the drive home from a project.”

We want to hear about your family's volunteering experience!
